We partner with nonprofits, social businesses, and other entities who care about the Freshspire vision. The following are a few of these organizations who will use Freshspire for their purchasing.
Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina
Established in 1980, the Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that has provided food for people at risk of hunger in 34 counties for over 35 years. The Food Bank serves a network of more than 800 partner agencies such as soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and programs for children and adults through distribution centers in Durham, Greenville, New Bern, Raleigh, the Sandhills (Southern Pines) and Wilmington. Freshspire will allow them to easily find out about discounted produce in the area.
Interfaith Food Shuttle
The Interfaith Food Shuttle is a nonpartisan, 501c3 non-profit organization and a member of the Feeding America National Network of Food Banks. They recover and distribute food to our low-income neighbors. They also provide programs designed to empower people with skills to meet their own food needs through culinary job training, beginner gardening, and cooking healthy on a budget. They feed, teach, and grow to create a hunger-free and healthy community.
Hungry Harvest is a produce delivery service, focusing on 2nd produce. They have a team of over 40, spread across nine states with a HQ located in City Garage, Baltimore. They have already reduced over 9 million pounds of food from going to the landfill and provided access to over 800,000 pounds of produce through reduced-cost markets and donations to people in need.
They are driven by the belief that every person has the right to eat healthy and every fruit and veggie grown deserves to be eaten. Hungry Harvest launched in the Triangle, NC in March 2018.
